Positron TF

This taskforce tends to make some heroes shudder. It can be quite tricky considering you face some of the most vile characters in the game: Circle of Thorns, Vahzilok, and Clockwork. With a little stragedy and insight, it can be done without a hitch. I wanted to share some tips I've found to be helpful and hope anyone else has experiences they wanted to post. I'm no expert at this taskforce. But if we work together we can survive it and have some fun doing it.

First, some inside information on the missions is helpful. I use www.nofuture.uk.org to get a rundown of the missions. The missions may not run in the exact order as listed but it still better than not knowing what's next. It's a very helpful site even for regular missions. Second is the team composition. Keep the team to 3 members if possible. This is very important. The more members, the bigger and uglier the mobs will be. Even set to heroic I've been told of lieutenants and bosses will flood the mission. At level 10-15, orange, red, and purple mobs are a guarranteed team wipe. Have everyone on heroic is a good idea also. This is just in case some disconnects and the star is passed to the next person. The level and number of mobs will change if it's not on heroic anymore.

I've done it with 3 different characters: a scrapper, a defender, and a controller. With my scrapper it was a team of 2. I had a defender with me. He had heals and stealthed the missions to teleport me where we only had the defeat the bosses. I handled taking out the mobs for the the defeat alls and the last boss in the taskforce. We finished in 3 hours or so. When I used my defender, we had a team of 3. I was the one stealthing, teleporting and providing heals. I had a controller and an blaster with me. It took us about the 3 or more hours to finish. Yesterday I did Positron with a team of 2. I had a controller and was teamed with a blaster. We actually took our time but finished around 3 hours. The stealthing was a little trickier since no one had invisibility so we just fought mobs when we absolutely had to in order to get through a floor.

So there you have it. This is just what I've come up with in doing this taskforce. I figured we can try to set something up to do Positron next weekend. I was thinking of getting a rotation going so any toons that doesn't have the badge and wants it we can take care of it as people are available to do the taskforce. I have a third account so we can start the taskforce and then the third member can just quit once we have the first mission.

Welcome to HI-Guard!

HI-Guard is a small supergroup in City of Heroes for casual players. The group started with just two members and now has grown to five. I decided to start this blog to develop better communcation with our members. We don't recruit members but if someone is interested we are more than happy to let them join.

Our Coalition members are some of the best players I know and some of the best people I've played with in City of Heroes. We have a coalition with Debt Brigade, Vixens of Paragon, and Paragon Defense Corps. We have fun together and that's what makes the game better.

If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask and just leave a post on the site. The only rule with this supergroup is to be friendly with everyone. Whether you like to team or solo, we don't dictate how you play. The most important thing is to have fun!
